Want More Money? Make a Little Change.

A recent report released by Verisae offers grocers 10 easy ways to cut energy costs in a big way.

Focusing "...on the retail grocery industry because it consumes the largest amount of energy of any retail segment..." and they have "... the strongest incentive and the largest opportunities to enhance profit through energy management..." the report comes from 10 years of working side-by-side with the nations top grocery retailers.

Although conducted with grocers, the findings could have broader appeal with other retailers looking to cut energy costs.

Some of the recommendations include:

1. - Understanding the effects of facility and equipment-maintenance activity on energy cost.
2. - Understanding the changing relationship between energy demand and cost.
3. - Understanding the energy efficiency of all the equipment in your stores.
4. - Monitoring energy usage in real time.

Verisae says that while these ideas will involve some cost they are easily implemented and the ROI makes it well worth it.
